Well, again today myself and Brolin were asked to help handle relieve class. Myself were given two relieve classes which is 4 Inovatif (7 to 8 am) and 5 Inovatif (9.30 to 10.30 am) while Brolin were given three classes which is 4 Kreatif, 2 Inovatif and also 4 Inovatif. For the first class, I try to used few different methods to handle the class. One of them is couting methods (which work really well than I expected) to ask them to sit tight in their chair or if they don't give me enough cooperation. Rather than playing games, I asked the students to take a piece of paper from their exercise books and wrote an essay about themselves, their family and pets. Oh yeah, I forgot, I asked them to write in English. :D One thing that I really like about primary kids is they really do their works passionately (maybe not all but most of them are) and love to ask questions if they don't understand. Then, after that, before I leave the class, I asked them to sing the nation and state songs (again :P). Then, around 9.30 I went to the next classes but found out that the information given to me is wrong since there are teacher over there. Then, straightly I go Brolin's class to help him. Nothing much to say on that class but I purposely acts like a discipline teacher to help Brolin to control the class (feel weird. Hahaha). Then, the last class for us that day is again the first class that I went early in the morning. Since I've already asked them to wrote an essay, so Brolin decided to play games with them which make them more happy. Brolin is using the words games with them whey they have to create as much words as they can from a given words . What amuse me the most is when Brolin say there will be a present to those who can create the most words, everyone of them started to shade their answer from being see. Some of them use their books and cover it while some others using their pencil box and stack it, some using their hands. It's quite fun actually to observe this kids. You can learn a lot. Hopefully we were not given too much relieve class or better not at all so that we can concentrate on out SBE task tomorrow.

Today is much more fun and challenging task for me. All of the trainee teacher were asked to handle a class relieve (which I found out from Teacher Gladys that 17 teachers were unavailable due to outside activities). I were ask to relieve two classes which is 6 Inovatif and also 2 Kreatif. Well, the first really give me goose bumps since it primary 6 classes which I thought would be much harder to control (which also I found out from the teachers that Dinamik and Inovatif classes are the top classes compare to Kreatif classes which is the bottom classes). But hey, it's much easier to control the primary 6 kids though I have to give them some games to actually control them (I'm still not that good playing with words which I intend to do in the first place). All of them even asking for my Facebook profile (which I regretted to give since I can ask them to find :)). I only suppose to relieve for half and hour but I've took one whole hour. Then, I straightly before past 9 am, I went to the another classes which is 2 Kreatif. Duh! This is the classes that really give me a headache (which at that point I still didn’t know that classes is the bottom classes). The students really are hyperactive and come to the point where there are one girl students just walking around the classes even though I relentlessly ask her to sit down on her chair. And I kept hearing the words "Cikgu, Cikgu.." throughout the classes. I try many ways to control and entertain them. I ask them about the maths table (sifir) which they say they know about it but actually they don't (I don't blame them since they are only primary two kids :)). I even ask them to draw a picture based on what I say, for example, draw elephant. I even draw it myself but they don't concentrate on it. Then, I try to draw out a picture (which I draw a scenery in the village) and ask them to describe the picture. It do attract them for a while before they lose their concentration again. Oh yeah, during the classes, some of the students really love to disturb others and I kept hearing this words also "Cikgu, si #@#*& ambil sa pnya … " and sort of words. I really don't know how to handle that and I just keep scolding them but that things is been repeated in the classes. Lastly, I asked them to sing the nation and state songs which they do sing it passionately and soon after that, I released them for recess. Around 10.20 to 11.20 am is the next relieve classes for Brolin which is 3 Dinamik, I join him on the second half and hour just to kill some times since I got nothing to do that time (plus it's really become interesting for me to actually teach a class). Brolin on the other way ask them to draw any picture on a piece of paper and promise them to give presents to the best drawing. To my surprise, that method actually control the classes though not fully. Then, around 12 plus noon (which at that time I sleep since my headache is getting bad and my sore throat is worsen) , suddenly a teacher ask us to help her to relieve class for 6 Kreatif (still I didn’t know about that information). She do warn us that the students are quite hyperactive. Then, both of us went to the class (again Brolin are supposed to lead the class since my sore throat is damn worse at that time and I really having a hard time to talk loudly in the class but I were forced to lead the class. Damn him :P). Nothing much activities can be done in half and hour other than self introduce. Then, for the co-curriculum class, both of us joined the KRS classes, Teacher Gladys language classes and lastly the sport (actually it's the same teacher handle both the KRS and Sport but I forgot her name :P). That's basically what I have done for today's activities.

Well, well, well. There's nothing much to report for today's activity. Both of us are still trying to complete Task 1 to task 3. Somehow, we didn't manage to interview the teachers about their role and sort of things but they do give us a books that talks about their job description. And that will do just enough to complete the first three task. We Photostat all of the books so that we can put it as our exhibits. We were also given a extra task by the PK1 to help her create a graph from data that she will give us later. But more importantly, both of us will be handling a separate relieve class tomorrow because there are quite many teachers will involve in the district level soccer match. So, since we are the trainee teacher, we were asked to help. OMG! Looking forward to it of course and just see what will happen. :D

I have survived on my first day at school. Say "Hooray". I drive from my home around 6.35 am and reach school compound around 6.45 am. To my surprise, Mdm. Dorin is already waiting at the school gate checking for the students (or maybe just checking on us, the Guru Pelatih :D). After saying "morning" to her, she asks me to go to the office and wait for her there and there I go. Oh, wait. It looks like there are other people just like me today report for duty. And hell yeah I'm right. There's another 5 PISMP students from IPG Tawau who also doing their PBS and only for short one weeks. And another 2 PISMP students from IPG Gaya who will be doing their practicum for a month. We were asked to wrote down our attendance on a small chocolate color book and from there, all of us (Brolin haven't come yet that time) were asked to join the weekly assembly. Nothing much to say about the assembly as it's just a normal weekly assembly and all of us were also introduced to the students. But one thing that really amuse me is that all the primary students especially the Level 1 students really enjoy when it comes to singing part (national, state and school songs). Maybe they are not synchronized but at least they singing it more passionate than the adults.
Then, after the assembly has finish. All of us were asked to go back to the office and were told that the staff rooms is full and we will relocated to another rooms which on the 2nd floor (And at last, Brolin came). We take the red chairs from downstairs and bring it to the room and also a big rectangle table where we asked to decorate the table as a signed for our commitment to the school. Not to forget to take the rooms key from office everyday since that room will be our base. From there, Mdm. Dorin give us a simple briefing and what we should expect. I remember she mention about the recess time for Level 1 student is from 10.00 to 10.20 am and 10.20 to 10.50 am for Level 2 students. I guess it's reasonable giving the fact that the school doesn't have evening session and it would be pity for the Level 1 students to actually queue up with the Level 2 students which is more bigger in terms of size. Also, there will be a co-curriculum activities every Wednesday start from 11.35 to 3.45 pm. She also asks us to give her a list of task of what we suppose to do so that she can help us to whom we suppose to meet. She also give her phone number (019-8801123) to us incase there's something happen. After that, she left all of us and ask the two practicum students to follow her to help her relieve her class. From there onwards, I remember both myself and Brolin just take a look around the school and also taking pictures for our material including the staff room. Oh yeah, though the number of students in SK Bahang are not that big but there's a pre-school and also special class at there. So, roughly that's how the first day pass by. Looking forward for tomorrow's activity.
